The Best Buy Teen Tech Center is located inside the South Salt Lake Community Center (formerly the Columbus Center) at 2531 S 400 E. The purpose of the Tech Center is to get the latest tech in the hands of youth at no cost. We have a full music and recording studio with various instruments, Adobe software, camera for photography and videography, 3D printer, laser cutter and so so much more.
We also run a College and Career Readiness program that helps youth age 16-19 start exploring career paths and learn job skills. They earn stipends through the program and it culminates in a paid summer internship for the youth.
Youth who attend our Teen Tech Center are also eligible for unique scholarships - we had one student last year apply and receive a scholarship valued at $40,000 spread out over her 4 years of college.
